About Anthony Rivera, Austin photographer
Hi, I'm
Anthony.
I'm an Austin photographer who learned the craft courtside and on the field. Burst Mode Studio is where I take everything sports taught me and point it at families, faces, and the things people make.

From the sideline
Where I learned to see
Sports photography doesn't give second chances. The serve happens once, the walk-off swing happens once, and the look on a catcher's face after the final out happens once. I've covered Texas athletics, from Longhorn softball, volleyball, and track to the pro teams around Austin, as Burst Mode Media.
What I fell in love with wasn't the gear or the access. It was the story that only a photograph can hold still. A pitcher looking in for the sign. Two teammates finding each other after a win. A parent in the stands who doesn't know they're in the frame, and wouldn't change a thing if they did. Those pictures aren't about sports, not really. They're about people, in a moment they will want to keep.
That's the work I want to do with you. Your family in the last of the light. The way you look when you're talking about what you built. A kid in their letter jacket, trying to stand still and not quite managing it. I still get that same feeling when the frame comes together: this is who they are, and this is the night they were it. If we can make a picture that still feels true in ten years, we did the job.
What the sideline taught me
Timing
Kids, teams, and nervous executives don't repeat a moment on request. I'm ready before it happens.
Light
Harsh Texas noon, stadium sodium, last-minute golden hour. I've shot it all and know how to make it work.
Deadlines
Portrait galleries in 48 hours. That's habit, not a promotion.
How I work
My credentials are never used for paid shoots. The photos above are examples from my sports catalog, and are not an endorsement of me or my brand.
